Lesson Explanation:
These lessons focused on the animal research our students have been doing as a part of our research unit. Students worked with a partner in another Kindergarten class to choose and learn about an animal in order to create a Google Slides presentation. This research unit has been broken into a myriad of reading and writing lessons: students using books and PebbleGo to learn about their animal, filling in a Tree Chart story map to organize their facts, converting the information from the Tree Chart into complete sentences and adding details when needed, writing, reading, and recording their facts using Seesaw to share with classmates for feedback. Furthermore, this unit also incorporated technology skills students used to make their Google Slides presentation: accessing Google Drive to create a slides presentation, inserting slides, text, and images to the presentation, typing in the facts researched and inserting related images, and presenting the slideshow when finished.
