Reflection:
Overall, I found that the majority of my class is on-level or above where we thought their writing should be at this time of year. For those students who scored Proficient/Typical, they are picking up the skills they need in whole group mini-lessons, so I plan to continue giving them support as needed in small groups and writing conferences. My students who scored Accomplished/Above Typical are ready to delve deeper into their writing, and will begin to concentrate on writing multiple sentences to tell a story. Regarding my students who scored Developing/Below Typical, I plan to continue using sentence stems and high frequency word support to help them build more independence in writing, so they can begin to create their own sentences. Finally, for my two students who show Lack of Skill, we are working on holding our pencil correctly, letter formation, and copying high frequency words independently.
